New Life for the Ponte Vecchio in Torricella Taverne
Execution period: 2018
ReferenceAs part of the reconstruction of the bridge on Via Ponte Vecchio in Taverne, we were commissioned by our client Edilistrada SA to fabricate and install the structural steelwork and road safety works (crash barriers and railings).
The longitudinal girders (box girders) were built from 35 mm thick heavy plates, flame-cut, rolled and full-penetration welded, while the inner and outer cross beams (forming the pedestrian and cycle path) are made of HEM sections with induction-welded connectors for the subsequent concrete pour by the construction company.
Installation was carried out with the aid of 220-tonne and 80-tonne mobile cranes.
